Our families are all part of “The Dragonfly Family.” They have come to us because they or an immediate family member, birth to age 30, is/was enduring cancer or a bone marrow transplant. When they registered with us, they thought they were registering with a “non-profit.” They didn’t expect to become part of a FAMILY.
One of our Dragonfly Caregivers posted: We love that our families (including patients, their siblings/offspring and parents/caregivers) identify and refer to themselves as “Dragonflies.”
We maintain a private Facebook page for our patients, siblings/offspring, parents/caregivers/spouses. While on vacation, one of our Dragonfly moms posted this picture and note to our families (reprinted with permission): “We love our Dragonfly family!”
