We are excited to share the results of Dragonfly’s Camp Uplift post-camp survey! (To read the Camp Uplift Overview Part 1, click here.) (Note: The Camp was renamed to Camp Dragonfly in March 2018)

Our volunteer team of “Kindness Advisors” under the supervision of volunteers, Maureen Scahill and Sydney Rader, did a fantastic job planning and implementing this volunteer-driven initiative. Both the campers and their parents found huge value in the program. With their help and others, we believe we have successfully inspired our campers (and their families) to be a “force of awesome”! (Force of awesome: the desire/willingness to be kind to others and to be a source of support at school, at home and/or in the community.)

Here are some of the comments we received from parents after Dragonfly’s Camp Uplift:

“In true Dragonfly fashion, Camp Uplift was an AMAZING experience. Ryan immediately asked if he could go back to camp again next year. The kids had so much fun while actually learning lessons of empathy, kindness and how they an make a difference. I believe Ryan walked away with a new confidence to go out and be a force of awesome!” — Nicole Rogers, Parent
“Camp Uplift was a wonderful experience for my child. He enjoyed each day. The lessons were excellent and applicable to his life. The camp was organized and run by caring, enthusiastic individuals. The special guests and activities were amazing and designed to appeal to kids who all had vastly different interests.”
“Wonderful message.”
“My child was excited to get up and go every morning. It was hard to get her out of there at the end of each day! — Amy Zinnecker
“Tommy was inspired to help others by listening to some of the guest speakers and he found a common passion (lacrosse) with another camper who he has gotten together with a few times already since camp. They are hoping to plan an event using their love of lacrosse to help raise money for The Dragonfly Foundation!” — Maureen Scahill
”In all my years of planning summer camps, I’ve ever come across one with such a great purpose. Camp Uplift combined fun with Helping the kids find a cause that’s important to each child and committing to make it better. Brilliant! Hope you continue doing it.  When Kelly gets too old, she’d love to be a kindness advisor.” — Lisa Barto
“Be A Force of Awesome! A great message. My child has been repeating it and acting it out with the physical expression for each word. It’s something I know I can reference in the future if she needs a pep talk because she smiles every time she says it.” – Cora Lee Colaizzi
“You can’t go wrong with a week at Camp Uplift! The kids learn lasting life lessons and have more fun than they could anywhere else. Joel said this camp changed his life! :)” — Kristin Bramblett
“Wonderful positive experience”
“A unique camp that hones in on the character qualities you try to emphasize as a parent but that aren’t being specifically addressed in other environments your kids are in. My other kids are asking when they can do camp uplift (ages 6, 13 and 14).” – Crystal Miller
