The Dragonfly Foundation hosts 5-12 patient events A WEEK for our families, from sending a family to the movies, to sending them to our Dragonfly suite at US Bank Arena, to hosting more than 200 at the Landing or at places like Kings Island Amusement Park. We try to do what we can, when we can, as often as we can.
Today, we held one such event. We sent one of our Dragonflies to the Art Institute of Cincinnati to participate in one of their extracurricular clubs that focused on merchandising/window dressing.
This event took one simple phone call. We can’t thank the Art Institute for welcoming Y with such open arms.
The timing couldn’t have been any better. In addition to the stresses the family is experiencing, they also had a death in the family just two days ago… due to cancer.
During her time at the school, she helped create a window display based on the movie Frozen. As you can see from the photo, she was all smiles, and so was her family.
Here is the note we received:
“I can’t thank (TDF) enough for today. Y had the most fantastic day ever. Her face lite up and her smiles was so priceless. I will never ever forget this day and I know Y won’t either. They welcomed her with open arms and Y was so eager to jump right in and help. Anne Tobe was so warm and and very pleasant and guess what Y held a conversation with her and the students I couldn’t believe it I haven’t seen her that open with others in 2 years amazing just amazing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
“Amazing, just amazing,” she said…
Huge thank yous to the students and staff of the Art Institute of Ohio-Cincinnati!
