“Nothing like cancer to help put life in perspective. I am so grateful that N is stable and healthy most days. N is enjoying school and karate and looking forward to therapeutic horseback riding. I am really focusing on getting the most from life and we take happiness wherever we find it! When we get an invitation, we say “YES”…the laundry, cleaning etc. will wait. We are grateful for each family activity we have together. We love the Dragonfly organization and we’ve had opportunities to go to events that I could not afford on a fixed income. We’ve been to a Red’s game, a picnic, King’s Island and have met a lot of nice new people. We are squeezing this summer like a lemon to get each drop of fun that is left into it! And when summer is totally spent, we are talking about what we want to do for fall! N’s approach reminds me of that song that says “I hope you have the chance…to live like you were dying”. While N is not dying….not my child…not today, cancer has given us a jolt in a big way!!! I don’t take life for granted and neither does he! Squeeze this day like a lemon!”
