Post by a Dragonfly Mom who nominated TDF for support:
“Our favorite non-profit organization is The Dragonfly Foundation! When our son, one of your patients, was diagnosed with stage 3, intermediate risk neuroblastoma in the fall of 2015, TDF was there for us from the very beginning!
During our initial week-long hospital stay, they provided us with a bag of essential items (like deodorant, toilet paper, shampoo, and laundry detergent, to name a few). They also sent our son an unexpected package of toys after we made it back home and started the tough journey of chemotherapy, additional inpatient stays, and home care.
TDF seeks to bring comfort and joy to young patients affected by cancer and bone marrow transplants, as well as their families, and they absolutely accomplish that mission! In the midst of such scary medical circumstances, it was so nice to have opportunities to “escape” with our family and participate in a wide range of events and activities. A multitude of these events are planned each week, giving patients and their families plenty of chances for positive distractions from the tough, current reality of their lives.
Since J’s diagnosis, subsequent treatment, and announcement of remission, Dragonfly has been our steadiest support and second family. We continue to lean on them for encouragement, knowing that we will always have a place within their purpose. I sincerely hope you’ll consider them for your next sponsorship. I can’t think of any organization more deserving! <3″
