On Wednesday, September 13th Dragonfly families had a unique patient/family event opportunity — thanks to our friends at CBTS and the Cincinnati Reds. Young cancer patients and their families visited Great American Ball Park, played baseball on the field, and visited the batting cages, and had the chance to see what it’s like to be a Reds player. Upon their arrival to the stadium, families were taken to the Visitor’s Clubhouse. The kids/young adults found personalized jerseys hanging in individual lockers. They then got to go on the field for photos. With the rain coming in, everyone was directed to the indoor batting cages where the Reds players spend their time. A Reds’ pitching coach helped them practice their batting skills. (Based on their performance, some of them could be on their way to the pros one day!!) While the rain prevented the kids from playing on the field, it did not get in the way of them having a blast at the stadium! Thank you to everyone who made this very special day possible for our awesome Dragonflies!
The Dragonfly Foundation helps young cancer patients and their families find strength, courage and joy.
