On September 29, 2015, The Dragonfly Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit, held a news conference at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The video describes the announcement, and provides insight into how Dr. John Perentesis, Director of Oncology, Cincinnati Children’s Cancer & Blood Diseases Institute, and Marty Brennaman, a Dragonfly Board Member & Spokesman, regard The Dragonfly Foundation and the “phenomenal,” “extraordinary” and “seminal contributions” it has made in supporting young patients (and their families) through cancer and bone marrow transplant treatment and recovery.

“Wow. As I watched this, I could not help the tears falling non-stop. It is amazing what The Dragonfly Foundation has accomplished in the few years they have been around. As a parent who had a child battling this awful disease before the Dragonfly foundation began, I remember the feelings of loneliness, isolation and despair that our daughter went through as well as our family during her inpatient stays. Which were sometimes 3 weeks out of a month for many months. Even when she was outpatient, her outings consisted of going for bloodwork and tests because she was vulnerable with her compromised immune system. The day she received her Dragonfly bag is also something I will never forget as well. For the first time in many months, we saw a bright smile on her face while receiving chemo. I have followed The Dragonfly Foundation since. I ask all my friends and family, if you are able and willing to donate PLEASE consider Dragonfly!!!! It can make such a huge impact on helping children and families while they battle!!!!“
