Runners cross the Taylor Southgate Bridge after the one mile marker at the 20th annual Flying Pig Marathon Sunday, May 6, 2018.

A Lakota West High School senior's Flying Pig half-marathon effort for The Dragonfly Foundation also established a new Guinness World Record.

Ali Hausfeld ran Sunday for Cincinnati-based Dragonfly, which helps young cancer and bone marrow transplant patients and their families, while also looking to break the record for "Fastest Half Marathon Dressed as an Emoji." And she was successful, running the half in just under two hours at 1:59:15 - shattering the previous record.

Reactions via Twitter from @DragonflyCinci:

According to MobileCause, Hausfeld had raised about $2,500 as of Monday afternoon.

More from Dragonfly.org:

Ali, a senior at Lakota West High School, has been involved in cross country and track since seventh grade. She wants to use her love of running to raise funds and awareness for The Dragonfly Foundation.

The Candy Race and Jelly Tot Dash - a 5K run/walk May 26 at Sawyer Point - also will benefit Dragonfly.
